What are the types of soldering irons? Correct use of soldering iron

Electric ferrochrome is a heating device that is characterized by fast heating and light weight. What are the types of soldering irons? Commonly used electric ferrochrome is divided into two types: internal heat type and external heat type. The chrome iron head of the internal heating type ferrochrome is outside the heating wire, and the electric ferrochrome is heated quickly and lightly; the ferrochrome of the external heating type ferrochrome is inserted inside the heating wire, and the heating is slow, but relative Speaking more firmly. The electric ferrochrome is directly heated by a 220V AC power source, and the power line and the outer casing are insulated, and the resistance is greater than 200M ohms.

1. The external heating type soldering iron

consists of a soldering iron head, a soldering iron core, a casing, a wooden handle, a power lead, and a plug. Since the tip is mounted inside the iron core, it is called an external heating type soldering iron. The iron core is a key component of the soldering iron. It is formed by winding the heating wire in parallel on a hollow ceramic tube. The mica sheet in the middle is insulated, and two wires are connected to the 220V AC power supply.

There are many specifications for external thermal soldering irons. Commonly used are 25W, 45W, 75W, 100W, etc. The higher the power, the higher the temperature of the soldering iron. The power specifications of the iron core are different, and the internal resistance is different. The resistance of the 25W soldering iron is about 2k Ω, the resistance of the 45W soldering iron is about 1 k Ω, the resistance of the 75W soldering iron is about 0.6 k Ω, and the resistance of the 100W soldering iron is about 0.5 k Ω.

he soldering iron tip is made of copper material. Its function is to store heat and conduct heat. Its temperature must be much higher than the temperature to be soldered. The temperature of the soldering iron has a certain relationship with the size, shape and length of the soldering iron. When the size of the tip is relatively large, the hold time is longer. In addition, in order to meet the requirements of different soldering materials, the shape of the soldering iron head is different, and the common ones are tapered, chiseled, round beveled, and the like.

2. The internal heating type soldering iron

consists of a handle, a connecting rod, a spring clip, a soldering iron core and a soldering iron tip. Since the iron core is installed inside the soldering iron tip, the heat is fast and the heat utilization rate is high, so it is called an internal heat type soldering iron. Common specifications for internal heating soldering irons are 20W and 50W. Due to its high thermal efficiency, the 20W internal heating soldering iron is equivalent to an external thermal soldering iron of about 40W.

The rear end of the internal heating type soldering iron is hollow, and is used for socketing on the connecting rod and fixed by the spring clip. When the soldering iron tip needs to be replaced, the spring clip must be withdrawn first, and the front end of the soldering iron head is clamped with the pliers. Pull out slowly, remember not to use too much force to avoid damaging the connecting rod.

3. The constant temperature electric soldering

iron is equipped with a magnet type temperature controller to control the energization time to achieve temperature control. When the electric iron is energized, the temperature of the soldering iron rises. When the predetermined temperature is reached, The strong magnet sensor reaches the Curie point and the magnet disappears, so that the core contact is disconnected, and then the power supply to the soldering iron is stopped; when the temperature is lower than the Curie point of the strong magnet sensor, the strong magnet recovers the magnetism, and The permanent magnet in the magnetic core switch is sucked, the contact of the control switch is turned on, and the power supply to the soldering iron is continued. In this way, the purpose of controlling the temperature is achieved.

4. Tin soldering iron

The tin soldering iron is a desoldering tool that dissolves the piston type soldering device and the soldering iron. It has the characteristics of convenient operation, flexibility and wide application range. The disadvantage of this type of soldering iron is that only one solder joint can be desoldered at a time.

Grip of the soldering iron: There are three types:

  1) The anti-grip method is to hold the handle of the soldering iron in the palm with five fingers. This method is applicable to high-power soldering irons, and is connected to the welded parts with large heat dissipation.

  2) The positive grip method, the electric iron used in this method is also relatively large, and most of them are curved iron tips.

  3) Holding the pen method, this method is suitable for low-power electric soldering iron, welding parts with low heat dissipation, such as welding radio, printed circuit board of TV and its maintenance.
